As a pet store owner, I feel for Noah. Certainly God was protecting the animals as there are very few who would have lived for 150 days on the ark, not to mention the fact that most of them would be needing to eat each other to stay alive. So why did God decide to supernaturally protect them after boarding the ark instead of just supernaturally protecting them? All I can think of is that God loves a good story, and the power of story in our lives is something that I think Pastor Jeff talked about just a few months ago. My other theory is simply that God was testing Noah, looking for obedience. Can we go back to the New Testament yet? Just kidding.

I think this was God not science personally. I know a little bit about animals. Two animals don't just automatically mate when you put them together. A great many of them in fact will just kill each other. Most animals in fact would have died being in the ark that long. Meeting the dietary needs of all the different types of animals would be utterly ridiculous. Not to mention their other needs of varying levels of humidity and temperature. I guess I'm saying that if God was divinely managing all the animals, he was just as likely to make some water disappear.
