Brittani and I started doing a weekly home church with the kids last night, and started with this exact question. The first thing my kids said was a person who wasn't a boy or a girl. That took a little unpacking. For me Zeus is the instinctual image but after that I think of the cosmos. Most earthly images carry too much baggage for me. The lion for example just makes me think of Narnia.
