The prophecies in the Bible, ie this chapter, what is their purpose for us today?

I don't really know much about any prophesies, it seems like the one I hear the most about is Israel becoming a nation in 1948. However, I've never heard anyone who chose to believe because of a prophesy. If fulfilled prophecies are a gift so that our faith doesn't need to be blind, what are some of the more concrete ones that would be worth looking into?

There is a depth to the bible, layers upon layers. This chapter is deep in the core, deeper than I've reached. Your will be done, your kingdom come.

All true. I know Jesus and his way is more powerful than our culture... but there is definitely one thats winning peoples hearts and minds right now. But I suppose that's the repeating message of the prophets.
