Tony, you didn't find it odd that Paul emphasized doing good "especially" to those of faith? Didn't Jesus teach us to to do good especially to those who didn't? I don't think this is the first time in the books we have read in this group that Paul talks about confronting our brothers about sin. Seems like a fine line between confronting someone and not seeing the plank in our own eye. We are all sinners, and we are all striving to fight the battle against it. Though Paul doesn't provide these details, I think based on my own perceptions that it would be critical to go to someone with an incredible amount of humility and only between two "brothers" that have a strong sense of trust and honesty between them so that they hold each other accountable rather than it coming across as a one way street. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. Is this a slipup from Paul? Hasn't he said in previous letters to let no one boast? It brings up an interesting relationship between personal pride in one's accomplishments and giving that glory to God, which we are clearly called to do also. To me this implies that both can be done at the same time, boasting of our own work and giving glory to God, yet I'm not sure I fully understand what this looks like in practice. Are you guys sick of me yet? For some reason I just can't seem to turn the ol brainwaves off when I'm putting hand to keyboard. But I feel bad as I am just a sinkhole of questions every chapter and rarely have any insight to offer.

Thanks Doug, I value your comments greatly and always look forward to your posts.
