This chapter is so rich I need to ask some questions. (I read the NLT)
A. v2 Always be humble and gentle. - Should we always be gentle? Doesn't seem like many of the role models in the Bible were always gentle including Jesus.
B. v 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all.
What does this really mean, God is "over all, in all, living through all."
C. v10 "so that he might fill the entire universe with himself."
What does this really mean?
D. 17 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused.
Were there no gentiles in the Ephesian church? Why would he say this as he's talked about the inclusion of gentiles in other books.
E. 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
Wasn't our old nature created to be like God? Isn't that right in the beginning of Genesis?
