Lots of interesting things from Jesus in this chapter. 1. Classic that the disciples were arguing about who was greatest right in front of Jesus. This is one chapter after Jesus talks about pride being a sin. 2. Later Jesus tells them to avoid sin at all costs. But the disciples still have their tongues after so that was a comfort. But reminds me that avoiding sin sometimes takes sacrifice. However I also struggle with the balance, as we always sin and always will. What does this have to do with hell though? It's almost like Jesus is telling them they could end up in hell as a result of their sin. Why would he tell them this knowing that his sacrifice would cover their sins? 3. I've of course heard many references to us being salt. Reading it here, I had a hard time grasping the analogy. "Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another" What is he referring to here? It doesn't sound like the usual being the salt of the earth. But I can't figure out what he is saying. See you guys tomorrow.
