A. 5 "And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them." What is this supposed to tell us? B. 46 "And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray." Wonder what he prayed for. C. 52 "for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened." The disciples hearts were hardened and they didn't understand about the miracle done right in front of them! Yikes, if it was hard for the disciples I don't feel as bad now 2000 years later when its hard.

So looking at the last few books we've read, it seems like for God to intercede in our lives we need to 1. Ask for Him to intercede (Begs the questions how often, how much, how many times, how seriously) 2. Have adequate faith that God can (and faith that he will? unsure on this part). 3. Has to be for His glory not solely for own benefit (although I have mixed feelings on this because often Jesus would heal someone and tell the person not to say anything to anyone). 4. Some other voodoo that determines whether or not God wants to or not. Obviously, miracles are a somewhat rare thing, though I've heard of them I've never had one happen in response to my own prayers. This would seem to suggest God does them only when he wants to regardless of our own desires (does the parable of the persistent widow and the judge counter this argument though?) Its hard to think about these from my puny human-view of the world but trying to understand. Thoughts?
