You can hear the desperation here. I feel this way sometimes talking to employees. It should be simple to make an easy choice. Work hard and you'll get praise and a raise. But yet, in the trenches, why do we make such bad choices? Lord, give me willpower to make the right choices. Holy spirit help me control over my eyes, my tongue, my mind and win those daily battles.

This chapter really struck home today. 11 “For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. They had a LOT of rules God gave them to follow. I kind of thought the law was to show how HARD it actually was and how imperfect we are. But the later verses provide more clarity. 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, That actually isn't hard. And we know the master plan now, which made it even easier as all we have to do is have faith. How much better is our life still if we have faith and obey his voice? I don't know the answer to that question, but I don't think I've ever heard a testimony from someone who lived a life "listening to God's voice and holding fast to him" that regretted it.
