A pleasing aroma to the Lord. I'm thinking that has to be some poetic language, but who knows... God did give us smell in his image.... so?

On the bright side his death did serve a purpose. It is rough being stoned to death though. However he continues teaching people generations later. Maybe it was an honor. I am also curious though, he couldn't have been the only one to sin. The whole chapter is about atoning for sin. So why end the chapter with a guy to which forgiveness through an offering was not an option?

Perhaps! Seems like an important detail to be missing.
