7 I said, ‘Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.’ 8 But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. Do we choose the spirit or does the spirit choose us. How much free will do we really have. So much of our personality, intelligence, culture, and upbringing go into our choices. We have another employee embezzlement situation at the store and an arrest planned for tomorrow. We have a paper trail and video footage of months of stealing starting with just a few dollars and eventually growing to thousands. It's easy to be angry but at the same time hard to judge. I find myself looking for the reasons. Wondering how someone who we've adorned with and trusted could go down this path. We all have our struggles that seem handed to us via all these circumstances that are beyond our control. Not limited to the secular world of course. The church I grew up in of thousands of people dismantled almost overnight due to unethical financial practices. I don't really want free will. God you can have my life, do something good wit it.

In part an answer to your question Greg, I think it was both wisdom and humility. By waiting he was open to the fact that his elders might have the answer and really seemed like he was expecting it. Even if he ends up wrong, it shows wisdom to listen first, and humility to give others the first opportunity to share their analysis. Also we know he's at least right in that he knew the other three guys did not provide Job with truth.
