Thanks for the comments yesterday guys. I do have a follow up, and that is why would we compare the American people to the Israelites? Wouldn't a more close comparison be the church to the Israelites? The Israelites were God's people, a nation He formed and chose and targeted. Did God choose America, and wasn't America formed as a nation of freedom not as a religious entity? The church however, was created by God and has a relationship with Him that may have its ups and downs but is at its essence a group of God's people. Moving on to this chapter specifically, verse 12 stuck out to me. "Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with their battle trumpets to sound the call to battle against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your fathers, for you cannot succeed.” If one cannot succeed in a fight against the Lord, and we have the Lord at our head, we have nothing to worry about. Yet it seems like we worry about a lot of things and a lot of battles being fought against us. Does worry have any place in our lives? When does worry become lack of trust?

Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD Will God fight all our battles if we rely on him, or does he let us fight them ourselves so we can grow. As a dad, I find I do a combination of both. But I never blame my kids for asking.
