This chapter seems all about trust. God promised he'd provide but how hard must it be to watch the grapes falling off the vine. This just goes against every grain in my body. Not sure if its a principle for today or not beyond backyard gardening. Certainly I think taking slaves of non-christians probably wouldn't be a principle for today. It takes a lot of discernment to make sense of these old decrees. I think generally it seems best to look for the guiding principles you find repeated and emphasized.
