Definitely a hard one for me to understand I'm a bit of a workaholic I guess. I can think of a million excuses for the Israelites why they should try to skirt around this one. For me if I'm not working my hardest I don't have peace. Also brings up a lot of time management questions. We all have a limited number hours in the week. Is serving the community any greater good than serving your family? Is serving the community any greater good than providing a more God-glorifying experience to your customers? Lots of blurry lines to me, not enough time to think them through... instead just gotta keep plowing the fields as best I can and try to do it all for God's glory not my own.

Build the pit and I'll be there!

2 things. 1. I just thought of the fact all these rules, guidelines, and schedules might seem extreme but probably brought much needed structure to their nomadic and chaotic live. 2. These days off work I think are really about trust. They lived in a desert with millions of people wandering with very little in the way of farmland etc. They are already sacrificing a lot of their food source. Their survival seems like it could have only been God's helping hand. Yet to take these days of no work would require so much trust.
