Guess I wasn't paying enough attention there! Though Greg is saying he learned all this on the mountain... so who's the boss? Maybe some was on the mountain and some straight up from the Tabernacle? Also now I've got all kinds of questions about the burning bush? God talks to people straight up all the time just like in Judges with no need for bushes and then chatting with Moses here in the tabernacle. So why the bush?

Why such specific instructions? I presume there is symbolism interwoven into all these odd instructions but there is no speak of them. Was it just a test of obedience? Did different animal parts have meaning to the Israelites that God was using to enhance their understanding? Obviously, (At least I think its obvious), it doesn't make any difference to God whether he gets fat or protein...

Well there were two types of anointing I found. One was anointing to a position, very similar to appoint but with a little more prestige. But most commonly it means smearing with oil as a symbol of dedicating a physical object or person God. So in either case asking God to anoint his people seemed interesting. I think based on your response the context is the first, that you are asking God to appoint us as spreaders of the gospel... at least that's what I took from your explanation, though I guess that's already been done.

Today I'm reminded to why ask why, God's ways are not our ways.
