What I like about this Psalm and many others is the candor with which he speaks to God. A couple chapters ago we discussed fear. But there is no fear in this Psalm, it's a prayer and a plea and a reminder to a trusted companion. God is our steadfast companion.

Pretty amazing that throughout thousands of years people have felt God's love at a soul yearning level. At our core we are meant to be in relationship with God. I know Jesus restored it, but it doesn't always feel fully restored to me. But that is maybe where David's hoping, waiting, and yearning come in. It maybe it's just me! I don't know.
