In a lot of ways were lucky to never be captives or part of an oppressed people. The people who are kids during this Psalm might not understand the journey of their ancestors either. But looking at the whole journey of Israel I suppose you can find the parallels in our own lives on a lot less grand scale. So I have a hard time finding or staying at a place of joy. God give me joy in good times and bad, show me freedom and help me understand what it really means.
