What stuck out to me today in this is all the actions attributed to God. He did this and did that as a result of X or Y. I can't imagine God responds in this way. Is this all just waxing poetic? Does God really give hard labor to people who don't follow him? Obviously not. But maybe passively or in some other context I haven't really been able to wrap my head around God is actually bringing unnatural consequences on people. Or maybe its just a vague reference to eternity.

What I got from reading this chapter was a reminder that God isn't like us in a lot of ways that I tend to think of Him as. The word steadfast sticks out because we are the opposite. Or bodies are constantly in a state of decline. Our minds and our situations are constantly changing. Good steadfast love can tether us and give us stability despite the frenetic change around us.
