The Ark is a bit bewildering to me. I read it's a foreshadowing of Christ and that sin was atoned at the Ark before Christ. (http://www.gotquestions.org/ark-of-the-covenant.html) Which I suppose makes sense. It doesn't make sense to me the effect the Ark appears to have. Hard for us to see the purpose of all this but there must have been one. Interesting that the Philistines recognized the power and superiority of God but stuck it out with Dagon. It can't be easy to be immersed in a culture worshipping a God you know is not real.

Was this the inspiration for Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Good doesn't like people messing around with the Ark. I'm surprised they can even move it around because I remember Israelites dying when they touched it. The power of Christ is in us. That's a phrase I hear fairly often. Is that power as much as was in the Ark? Lots of metaphysical questions I have about the Ark but I think they might have to wait until God reveals all.
