Lots more of the word "truth". Looking at all three letters together, I John I found really challenging but definitely had me in a lot of thinking and spiritual discussion so thats great. I think though that now after reading them all a little broader perspective is helping me. This was a crazy time in the early church where they didn't have much in the way of scriptures, just testimonies and letters from Paul. How hard it must have been to figure out the truth from the lie. Also an opportunity for people like Diotrephes. I think Paul and Tony were right in that the truth he is talking about to these guys is the core absolutes and not the things that separate our denominations. We have the gift of hindsight and a lot of resources to guide us and for that I'm grateful to live when we do.
