In all wondering about the purpose of the dreams, was Daniels only role to write them down? And why the wierd imagery, why require an angel to come down and interpret?

Greg,
I definitely don't know the answer. I really wish things were straightforward. Like Daniel could have just had a dream where Greece got divided into four kingdoms instead of a seeing horns and then being confused for days. Granted this is a theme throughout the bible. Everything we read goes through translation, culture, context, and then layers upon layers of subtext. My best guess, is that when speaking to 1000 different languages, 1000 different cultures, 1000 varying levels of education- it takes a special level of creativity I will never be able to understand.

I'm with Greg today. Peace is better.
Interesting vision. Hard to imagine Greece ever being a world power again.
