Sheep vs. Goats. I don't see anything about faith in the description of either of those, yet one of them joins Jesus and the other is separated. I think I need Tony C. to give another full debrief on this analogy. Tony G. You mention a difference between providing food and clothing, expressing kindness... When you say we can do this on a spiritual level, can you explain? Are you referring to prayer? Or are you saying that we do these things by proxy by leading them to Jesus, and in turn Jesus provides those things. Also, I think this is a question for anyone who feels they have wrestled with it and come to peace with some sort of resolution. What % of our time should be dedicated to service? Even Jesus took time for himself, and to my understanding had a trade as a carpenter which must have taken a large part of his time and life. Obviously there is no exact % or magic bullet answer. I guess I'm just feeling selfish, particularly to this group of people referenced (hungry, needy, imprisoned), but not really feeling like I have a lot of ways to minister to them (on any substantial scale at least) without letting people around me down. Is it more about a general spirit and desire we have? Or do you think there is actually a performance measure? My gut is telling me, its just something I have to pray about, but feedback from others helps keep me from getting to far off the original intention of the passage, which as you know I have the tendency to do. Which brings up another question, I feel like I've had "revelations" during prayer that have been shot to pieces after doing some further reading in scripture, getting insight from those around me that are more wise, etc. Whats the approach for keeping prayer meaningful without imbuing so much of your own thoughts into what you hear back that you have a hard time trusting any of it.
