I think I need a full day on each verse. This is a loaded chapter and I'm overwhelmed. My main question is if anyone knows if there is any relevant context. It starts off saying he is speaking to a crowd but it also could just be his disciples it looks like.
The part about the law confused me.
A lot of these things I am a little shaky about and not sure if I am making excuses for not adhering to them. For example, never refuse a request for a loan. Is that literal?

The last part of that verse says "and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you." I know lots of people, family, friends who have a policy to never lend money to friends. Seemed kind of wise but I get the sense it may be wise in man's wisdom but not Christ's.
