One has to wonder who was recording all this? I've seen mentioned previously that it was orally passed down and around. I've also heard Moses was the author. Amazing the accuracy of the genealogies and the foresight to keep this one chain of humanity recorded. God's hand in it is the obvious answer, but so much of this book seems so blatantly human. I guess its just interesting the balance and precision with which God maintains the thread of His story throughout the chaos.

Odd how we switch directly from story teller mode to genealogy mode. You'd think they'd have a separate record for those. I enjoyed reading old comments today because there was a lot for such a simple chapter.
